Benefits for Veteran students
What is Veterans Aid?
Veterans aid is a type of educational benefit that veterans of the US armed forces and their dependents can use to cover their program costs. The exact amount that a veteran or dependent student can receive will vary depending on the specific veteran benefit they are eligible for and the specific program they are enrolled in at MTECH. Veteran education benefits can pay for the cost of tuition, fees, books/supplies, and/or living expenses, and are paid to either the veteran or to the college.

Complete Additional Documents
During your meeting with the Financial Aid team, we’ll provide any additional forms that need to be completed. You won’t need to worry about these documents until we have met!
Maintain Academic Progress and Attendance in Your Program
To continue receiving your benefits, you must attend class and make satisfactory progress in your program. Please refer to Section 600.611, Progress and Attendance Policy & Procedure, for more information.

GI Bill®
The GI Bill® is one type of veteran education benefit that eligible veterans can use at MTECH. Veterans may be eligible for the Post 9/11 GI Bill® or the Montgomery GI Bill®.
Post 9/11 funds are paid directly to the college and are used toward tuition and fees. Students must pay out of pocket for books and supplies, and will later receive a stipend from the VA for their supplies, along with a Basic Allowance for Housing (BAH). The Montgomery GI Bill® requires a student to pay up front for all program costs and receive reimbursement later.
