The Emissions Test Preparation Training is a non-credit 20-hour class designed to help an auto technician prepare for the Utah County Emissions Certification. In this course you will gain a basic knowledge of the automobile engine mechanical, cooling, fuel, electrical, and emission control systems. The material covered in this course will prepare the technician for the Utah County Emissions Test.

Registration for Fall 2024 opens April 23, 2024 at 8:00 a.m. online on the MTECH Student Portal and remains open until classes are full. It is recommended to create your MTECH Student Portal account in advance.

  • Students must have some experience as a mechanic.
  • Students must possess a current Driver’s License, and are recommended to have a 10th grade competency level in reading and English.
