Embark on a rewarding career in the transportation industry with our Commercial Driver’s License Class A program. Designed for aspiring professional truck drivers, this program prepares students with the essential skills and knowledge to confidently navigate the roads.
Our state-of-the-art training equipment and experienced instructors ensure students receive hands-on instruction in vehicle operation, safety protocols, and industry regulations. Students leave the program prepared and ready to take on the roads.
This course fulfills entry-level driver training requirements for CDL training in accordance with Part 380 of the Federal Motor Carriers Safety Regulations.
UTAH SYSTEM OF HIGHER EDUCATION (USHE) DESCRIPTION:
The Commercial Driver’s License – Class A (CDL) program prepares students with the skills and
knowledge necessary to join the professional driving industry. This course fulfills entry-level driver training requirements for CDL training in accordance with Part 380 of the Federal Motor Carriers Safety Regulations.
Registration: This program is considered “non-term”, which means there are multiple registration dates throughout the year. Here are the registration dates with the correlating start date:

Minimum Age Requirement: 18 years old. High school students are not eligible for this program.

How soon can I start?
The program has a start date every month. However, there is typically a waiting period to be enrolled.
How long is the program?
The day class is 24 business days (about 5 weeks). The night class is 36 business days (about 7 weeks).
Do you help with job placement?
We do not do a formal job placement. However, recruiters contact us often and it is rare that students leave without a job offer.
Admission requirements may be met by taking the Entrance Assessment OR by providing qualifying documentation. The Entrance Assessment can be taken at a Testing Center, and qualifying documents can be sent to transcripts@mtec.edu.

Once previous steps have been completed, eligibility is met to register for the first course within the program. Registration is on a first come, first serve basis. Tuition and fees are due for the first course upon registration.
