Utah’s fastest growing technical college opens under modified conditions

On June 1, 2020, Mountainland Technical College resumed in-person instruction after the COVID-19 pandemic caused the school to close for nearly three months.  Utah’s second-largest and fastest growing technical college opened under modified conditions to welcome students back to campus.

“With the safety of our students, faculty, and staff as our guiding principle, we are glad to report that students are back in class and engaged in hands-on learning,” said Joseph Demma, Vice President of College Relations.  “As a key input for the workforce pipeline which will stimulate a struggling economy, we know that getting back to school is critical for our state.  However, we have had to be thoughtful and careful with how we proceed in the current environment.”

MTECH is working with local health departments and using guidance from the United States’ Centers for Disease Control as part of a strategy that includes social distancing, extensive cleaning, and personal protective equipment.
