MTECH Board of Trustees, Chair of Search Committee
Julie King is a mother of four and a passionate advocate for learning in all its forms to meet the individual needs of every student. She graduated from Brigham Young University in 1997 with a degree in Family Sciences, with an emphasis in Human Development, and later earned a master’s degree in Constitutional Government, Civics, and Law.
Julie has worked as a social worker specializing in supporting children who have experienced abuse and neglect. She and her husband have also served as foster parents, and she holds a special place in her heart for youth aging out of the foster care system.
She was appointed by the Utah State Board of Education to serve on the Student Data Privacy Advisory Group. In 2012, she was honored as the Utah Delegate to the Parenting Magazine Mom Congress, and in 1999, she was named Utah County Child Advocate of the Year.
Julie has served on the Board of Trustees for Mountainland Technical College since 2019.
A self-described nerd, Julie enjoys history, travel, and is an avid reader. She is also a published author.
MTECH Board of Trustees Member, Co-Chair of Search Committee
In addition to serving as a Trustee for Mountainland Technical College, Brian Hulet is a Payson City Councilmember focused on economic and workforce development. He retired from the banking industry after a successful career, including 22 years at Central Bank, where he worked closely with local businesses and entrepreneurs.
As Chairman of the Payson Economic Development Board, Brian has advanced initiatives that strengthen business growth and expand workforce opportunities. He has also supported partnerships between MTECH and Payson City, including the creation of the Business Innovation Center, which provides equipment, training, and resources to students and growing companies.
Brian and his wife, Debbie, have five children and ten grandchildren. He enjoys traveling and hiking.
Utah Board of Higher Education Member
Jeremy Hafen is the President and CEO of Clyde Companies, Inc., a multi-billion-dollar construction materials and services company based in Utah and operating in the Intermountain West & Great Plains regions.
Prior to his move to Clyde Companies in April of 2019, he served as President of Sunroc Corporation, a wholly owned subsidiary of Clyde Companies. Before that, he served as President of Sunroc Building Materials (now known as Sunpro), a sister company to Sunroc Corporation. In his seven plus years as president, Sunroc Building Materials more than doubled its revenue and became a top performing subsidiary of Clyde Companies, Inc. He began his career with Clyde Companies in the fall of 2004 as a Business Development Manager and worked his way up to Vice President of Administration at Clyde Companies, Inc.
Prior to Clyde Companies, Jeremy spent several years with Deloitte in Dallas, Texas as a Senior Tax Consultant. He graduated from Brigham Young University with a Master of Accountancy degree in tax, accompanied by a Minor in Information Systems Management. He also holds an emeritus CPA license in the State of Utah.
Jeremy previously served as the Chair of the Utah Valley Chamber of Commerce and is currently the Salt Lake Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors Chair. He was recently appointed as a director of the Salt Lake City Branch of the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco. He also served as the Chair of the Board of Trustees for Mountainland Technical College and on the Board of Trustees for Utah Valley University, is an Advisory Board member of the Kem C. Gardner Policy Institute and the Tuacahn Advisory Board, and a BYU Marriott National Advisory Council member. He also serves as a member of the Board of Directors of Clyde Companies, Inc.
Most of his personal time is spent with his wife and seven children.
MTECH Board of Trustees Member
In September 2025, Scott accepted the position of Executive Director of the One Utah Health Collaborative, a private non-profit initiative of Governor Spencer Cox to improve healthcare outcomes, costs, and experience throughout the State across all healthcare sectors. Additionally, Scott and his wife Collette volunteer their time as the Executive Directors of the Volunteer Care Clinic in Provo, coordinating the work of volunteer physicians and health workers, under the auspices of the United Way and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Prior to that, Scott served as the CEO of Revere Health, the largest independent physician group in the State of Utah, from 2001 to 2025. Under his leadership, Revere grew from a system of 19 providers and 100 employees to over 400 providers practicing at over 100 urban and rural clinic locations and hospitals throughout Utah, Nevada, and Arizona.
Revere has been a national leader in the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) health care reform efforts. In the CMS programs, Revere has achieved quality and cost improvements for targeted populations for eight consecutive years, lowering the actual total costs of care by over 43% from 2015 to 2022.
Mr. Barlow frequently presents on ways to improve healthcare that lead to better outcomes, lower costs, and improved patient and caregiver experiences. He has served on multiple state and national boards and committees and speaks frequently on practical steps for overall improvement.
Scott and his wife, Collette, live in Salem, Utah, and enjoy spending time outdoors with their family. He holds a B.S. in accounting from the University of Utah and an M.B.A. in healthcare administration from Westminster University.
Vice President of Instruction
Holly is an experienced educator and advocate for technical education. As Vice President of Instruction, she works with program directors, coordinators, and faculty to continuously improve program quality. With a focus on student success, she supports program planning, new initiatives in teaching and learning, faculty development, and the expansion of hybrid education. In her two decades with the college, she has worked to improve the value of the certificates earned by students. She is committed to equality of opportunity through market-driven technical education, preparing students for successful careers.
As Mountainland Technical College has evolved, Holly has served as a faculty member, department chair, and program director. As Vice President of Instruction, she has increased the number of offerings available at the college and advocated for articulated technical education pathways with K12 and university partners.
A former Utah State University Aggie, Holly graduated in Accounting and Business Administration, and became a licensed educator. She serves as the accreditation liaison with the Council on Occupational Education and serves on the Commission Review Panel.
Holly and her husband Ken have four grown children and live in Orem.
Associate Vice President of Student Affairs
With 21 years of experience at Mountainland Technical College and as an MTECH alumna, Keri has built a career focused and dedicated to technical education and student success.
Throughout her career, Keri’s experience spans across Student Services, Financial Aid, Institutional Research, Student Information System management, and other key areas of technical college operations. In her current role as Associate Vice President of Student Affairs, she provides leadership in developing and improving systems and services that support student access, retention, and completion
Keri is passionate about creating effective, student-centered systems that use data to support informed decision-making, helping technical education institutions better serve their students and communities.
Dental Assisting Coordinator & Instructor
Julie has been a part of the Mountainland Technical College community since 1997, serving alongside three college presidents throughout her career. Julie holds an Instructor License from the State Board of Education and has been a Certified Dental Assistant through the Dental Assisting National Board for 45 years.
Throughout her time at MTECH, Julie has played a vital role in connecting students with the dental community and helping them develop the practical skills needed to succeed. She is passionate about supporting both students and instructors and preparing them for success in college, their career, and life.
Julie received her education from Utah Valley University and Utah State University, with additional training in Dental Assisting at UTC.
2026 Student of the Year, MTECH Alumna
Holly Chun is an honored Automotive Technology graduate of Mountainland Technical College. Additionally, she feels privileged to have been hired by and work alongside her mentors as a substitute automotive instructor. Holly truly cares about each student who attends MTECH. A former graduate of Brigham Young University in Physical Education, Holly decided to expand her skill set by investing in her automotive expertise. Although her two-year program at MTECH was rife with challenges, Holly found strength and solace in connecting with and helping those around her. Despite adversity, Holly credits much of her success to the supportive staff and instructors at MTECH.
