Mountainland Technical College Creates New Student Affairs Department

College Relations VP to Take on New Role Focused on Access, Retention, and Placement

Lehi, UT – In an ongoing effort to enhance services focused on student access, retention, and placement, Mountainland Technical College President Clay Christensen has announced that prospective and enrolled students of Mountainland Technical College will now receive coordinated enrollment, financial aid, counseling, testing, and placement services in a new Student Affairs department.
The move combines several existing divisions under the direction of Vice President Joseph Demma and Associate Vice President Keri Banbury. Vice President Demma moves into the new role after leading the college’s communications, government affairs, and student success teams for the last five years. Demma also served as chair of Mountainland’s COVID-19 task force. Associate Vice President Banbury was selected for her new role after 18 years of service to Mountainland Technical College, most recently as Associate Director of Student Services.
“I am grateful that Joseph and Keri have agreed to serve in these new roles,” said Mountainland President Clay Christensen. “As proven leaders and champions for student success, they are uniquely positioned to lead the new department in service to a more coordinated and enriching student experience.”
“As our region continues to set growth and economic development records, Mountainland Technical College must continue to educate and train a workforce ready to meet that demand,” added Vice President Demma. “I am honored by the president’s support and appreciate his vision for a non-instructional support system that helps ensure students have access to our college, the tools to succeed inside their classrooms, and a seamless transition to the workforce or other higher education opportunities.”
