New Civil Construction Program Builds Pathways to Utah’s Workforce
State officials, education leaders, and industry experts celebrate unique program

Lehi, UT — Mountainland Technical College (MTECH) proudly hosted a ‘Civil Construction Program’ celebration to mark the launch of a groundbreaking new program developed in partnership with Clyde Companies. A first of its kind in the state, this program is designed to meet the urgent demand for skilled workers in Utah’s infrastructure and construction sectors.
The event was highlighted by the attendance of Utah Lieutenant Governor Deidre Henderson, who delivered remarks about the importance of workforce development and the critical role programs like MTECH’s Civil Construction play in building Utah’s future.
Developed in response to the state’s ever-growing need for construction professionals, the program offers hands-on training tailored to real-world job demands. Guests at the celebration experienced this firsthand by participating in interactive simulations that mirror the tasks and equipment students will train with, bringing the classroom to life and giving attendees a glimpse into what the field demands.

“At Mountainland Technical College, we believe in building futures, and today, we’re proud to help build Utah’s workforce, one skilled student at a time,” says Clay Christensen, MTECH President.
Enrollment for the Civil Construction I program is now open. For more information, visit www.mtec.edu/programs/civil-construction.
