MTECH & UVU Nursing Program Partnership

Mountainland Technical College & Utah Valley University Announce Nursing Program Partnership

Orem, UT - Mountainland Technical College (MTECH) and Utah Valley University (UVU) have formalized a historic transfer credit agreement providing students with a smooth transfer from the MTECH Licensed Practical Nursing (LPN) program to the UVU Registered Nursing (RN) program.
This agreement reserves 24 spots, per semester, for MTECH graduates to enter the UVU RN program as a 3rd-semester student. This new pathway saves students time and money by removing the need to repeat or replace their previous higher education coursework.

“This is an exciting opportunity for students and our community,” said MTECH President Clay Christensen. “It’s amazing the good that can be done when prioritizing student success, and we are honored to partner with UVU on this fantastic pathway.”
In addition to this agreement, all RN students at UVU are automatically eligible to complete their online Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree. Accordingly, once students are admitted into MTECH’s LPN program, they have a clear pathway to a BSN, from a regionally accredited university.
Cheryl Hanewicz, Dean of the College of Health and Public Service at Utah Valley University, said, “Students now have an affordable and professional path to their educational goals. It is through our strong relationship with MTECH that we can provide the healthcare community with the workers that they need.”
