MTECH Partners with Larry H. Miller + Ford to Further Automotive Education

MTECH is proud to announce the partnership between Larry H. Miller + Ford Motor Company Draper . This is a huge advancement for MTECH and the Automotive Technology program, and will further our students valued education.

This new partnership and initiative is to allow students to be trained in a way that is parallel to industry standard. It allows for students to meet the growing demand for automotive Service Technicians, and work with vehicles and companies they will experience in the field.

“From the top of Ford’s headquarters in Michigan, this training initiative is being supported because the demand for Service Technicians is expected to increase the highest defection the industry has seen, 17% by 2020,” said Vanessa Thompson, Ford’s Regional Technical Talent Placement Specialist.

MTECH is excited about this new partnership and what this means for our students. Matt Zufelt, MTECH Automotive Technology Instructor, explained that this will help accelerate market-driven career paths, increase technology with newer vehicles and is a pipeline to lifetime careers. Not only will this partnership aid MTECH students, but it helps the community as well by fulfilling the needs of our community by strengthening our labor force.

Larry H. Miller + Ford Motor Company Draper started this partnership with a generous donation of 2 Mustang engines, as well as an automatic transmission per campus (Lehi and Spanish Fork).

MTECH is looking forward to this ongoing partnership with Larry H. Miller + Ford Motor Company Draper and the benefit it will give to the students and community.

“ should hold your head up high and be proud of the training you are receiving at a technical college,” said President Clay Christensen, MTECH President.
