Julie King

Julie King is a mother of four and a passionate advocate for learning in all its forms to meet the individual needs of every student. She graduated from Brigham Young University in 1997 with a degree in Family Sciences, with an emphasis in Human Development, and later earned a master’s degree in Constitutional Government, Civics, and Law.
Julie has worked as a social worker specializing in supporting children who have experienced abuse and neglect. She and her husband have also served as foster parents, and she holds a special place in her heart for youth aging out of the foster care system.
She was appointed by the Utah State Board of Education to serve on the Student Data Privacy Advisory Group. In 2012, she was honored as the Utah Delegate to the Parenting Magazine Mom Congress, and in 1999, she was named Utah County Child Advocate of the Year.
Julie has served on the Board of Trustees for Mountainland Technical College since 2019.
A self-described nerd, Julie enjoys history, travel, and avid reading. She is also a published author.
