Roles
This year, student ambassadors will work with specific teams across Student Affairs.
Listed below is a description of each open role:
Admissions
As an Admissions Ambassador, you’ll have the opportunity to be one of the first people prospective students meet. You’ll help them explore programs, answer questions from a student perspective, and create a welcoming first impression of MTECH. You’ll do this while working alongside the Admission Office and other staff/faculty, while gaining valuable leadership and professional experience/skills.
Basic Needs
The Basic Needs Ambassador would help other students navigate campus and community resources for basic needs. This would include managing the food pantry, planning and executing food distribution events and student resource fairs, and supporting the training of new staff and teachers on the on- and off-campus student resources. The Basic Needs Student Ambassador would assist the Basic Needs Specialist in improving the accessibility, awareness, and use of basic needs resources available to students.
Career Services
Career Services is seeking a motivated, creative student ambassador to support our office with a variety of projects and initiatives. This internship provides hands-on experience in career services while contributing to programs that help students succeed professionally.
Counseling
The Academic Counseling Student Ambassador will help promote awareness and access to the academic and mental health resources available through the Counseling team. This would include assisting with the creation of study skills curriculum and materials, supporting the development and distribution of resources for prevention campaigns (suicide prevention, mental health awareness), and occasionally tabling at resource fairs or similar events as opportunities arise. The Academic Counseling Student Ambassador would assist the Counseling team in expanding study-skills programming and raising the visibility of student support services.
Please note: This role does not involve access to individual student cases, meetings, or confidential records.
Former Ambassadors
Our ambassador alumni come from a wide range of programs and have helped shape MTECH through their leadership, service, and student voice. Whether supporting outreach efforts, giving tours, or leading assessment projects, each ambassador has made a lasting impact.

I decided to become an ambassador because it gives me more opportunities to build relationships with people and to help them in any way I can. To challenge myself to grow so I can become better than I was.

I am happy to have the opportunity to be a Student Ambassador for MTECH. My first experiences with the school's faculty were very encouraging and motivating. These experiences helped me decide to start my program. This is why I wanted to be a representative for MTECH. I want to help be a part of that warm welcome for someone else. I am excited to meet current and potential MTECH students and learn what motivates them!

I absolutely love MTECH! This school has given me so much more than just an education - it's provided me with a sense of direction, purpose, and community. I love to connect with other students who share a passion for the trades, learn from skilled instructors, and gain practical experience that will serve me well in my future career. It's such an incredible feeling to be a part of this community, which is why I decided to become a student ambassador. As a student ambassador, I'm committed to helping others discover the benefits of a trade school education and encouraging them to consider this amazing path for their own futures.

I wanted the opportunity to get to know and connect more with the people at MTECH as well as the community. Also, I want to grow personally as a person from this experience. I believe this will be able to help me work on my communication and leadership skills for my future career.

I wanted to be an ambassador because of the growth and opportunities it provides and because it was something that made me uncomfortable. The EMT course is the second course I have taken through MTECH, the first being the CNA program, so I am not new to discovering what you like and continuing your education. I love teaching people and helping others discover what they want to do and become, and I am grateful to be able to represent MTECH and to be able to do that through the ambassador program.
