Marietta Evans served over 30 years at Mountainland Technical College. Having served across various roles, her tenure is most distinguished by her impactful leadership as the Senior Director of Student Services. Marietta expresses her love working at MTECH sharing, “MTECH is changing lives for the better – students are able to complete their programs and move forward into a career and employment, and in most cases with zero debt.”

“It was my life for nearly 34 years. I never had one day that I wasn’t excited to go to work at MTECH. Every day was a positive and challenging experience for me.”

Gordon Reynolds served 14 and a half years at Mountainland Technical College as the Senior Director of Trades Programs. Gordon conveyed his love for the school’s mission and what makes the Mountainland community so fundemental to the growth of students and instructors.

“I was given the opportunity to work with the best Trades instructors on the planet! They are absolute craftsmen who are experts in their trade. I also worked with an assistant who rolled up her sleeves and became one of us. She worked hard to support my instructors in making their programs the best. The Trades department excelled at fulfilling the mission statement of the school. They are some of the finest people I have ever known. Our Campus President is the epitome of what a leader should be. His vision, work ethic, and integrity are in large part the reason MTECH is the best Trades & Technical school anywhere.”

Keri Banbury is currently serving as Associate Vice President of Student Affairs and has been a part of the Mountainland family for the past 18 years. Throughout the years, Keri has seen and experienced MTECH’s growth first hand.

“My favorite memory is MTECH Commencement. The first commencement I went to was in 2007 where there were about 50 people in the hallway of our Orem campus (now UVU west campus). This last commencement for 2023 filled the UCCU event center at UVU. Seeing how much growth we have gone through and all the students’ lives we have been able to change is something I will never forget.”

“MTECH has been my whole life. The people I have met, both employees and students, have been some of the best mentors, leaders, friends, and family that will never know the impact they have made on my life. “

For almost two decades, Mark Middlebrook has been part of an incredibly influential role by directing the operations of MTECH’s community outreach programs. If you’ve had any involvement with MTECH, big or small, chances are you’ve been acquainted with him! He shared:

“One of my favorite memories at MTECH has been the people. I remember my first day. I had Fred Keetch, the VP of Instruction take me to Heber to show me around and get lunch at Train Burger. It was such a great day and a day which I will cherish. Fred was an incredible man and one well loved by all.”

“I also remember how I started the graduation in the Hall of Flags in Orem. We had around 70 people attend and had 25 students graduate. It eventually grew to 300 in that hall. We had to move to another location because the fire marshall was not happy with all of our people in that hallway! Graduation moved to Mountain View High School, where we had now 200 students graduate and over 1000 people in attendance. We then had to move to Orem High School where we had capacity there until we ended up at UVU with thousands of people attending.”
