The primary responsibility of a limited x-ray technologist is to use x-ray equipment to image the internal structures of the human body within their scope of practice. X-ray imaging is a key tool that medical providers use to diagnose and treat injuries and diseases. This program will teach you to prepare patients for an x-ray exam, explain and perform x-ray exams, perform medical assistant duties, and assist with front desk responsibilities.

In this program you will be instructed in both the classroom and the laboratory to learn on-the-job skills and then to apply your knowledge in a clinical and/or work setting. Prior to enrolling in this course you must have an understanding of medical terminology and human anatomy and physiology. Coursework includes learning body positioning and the importance of radiation protection techniques.

This program is eligible for Financial and Veterans Aid! Learn more
