The Basic Life Support (BLS) Course for Health Care Providers is designed to provide a wide variety of professionals with the skills to keep people alive until they can be brought to a hospital or be treated with more advanced lifesaving measures.  This course covers: adult and pediatric CPR, two-rescuer scenarios and use of the bag-valve masks, foreign-body airway obstruction, automated external defibrillation, special resuscitation situations, stroke and cardiac arrest, and other cardiopulminary emergencies.

6 Hour Course • 1 Day

Note: If student is sponsored by a qualifying company, Utah State Custom Fit funding may be available to offset training costs by up to 50%. For details visit the Custom Fit homepage.

  • Students will receive a Basic Life Support certification card from the American Heart Association.  The cost of the AHA card is included in the course fees.
  • MTech Heartsaver BLS Occupational Skills Certificate
  • Students must be at least 16 years old to take the Heartsaver CPR/AED Certification Course
This 3 Hour course is offered at our Lehi Campus in Room 305.
The course runs from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM on Saturdays.

  • Programs at the MTECH are based on CLOCK HOURS. Clock hours are actual hours and not credit hours.
  • If your program is OE/OE, you can easily calculate the time it takes to complete a program (your targeted completion date) by taking the total hours of the program and dividing it by the number of hours per day you meet. This will give you how many days it should take. You can then plot this on a calendar,excluding weekends and holidays.
