MTECH Students Qualify for HOSA Nationals

MTECH students had the chance to participate in the State Health Occupations Students of America (HOSA) competition March 21-22 at the Davis Conference Center in Layton, Utah. Nine out of 16 MTECH students placed high enough to qualify for Nationals. Those students include Janet Wayman, qualifying in Medical Law and Ethics; Kristin Futrell, Medical Spelling; Morgan Carter, Public Service Announcement; Aubrie Christensen, Public Service Announcement; Emma Robbins, Public Service Announcement; James Hammond, EMT; Madelyn Dallin, EMT; Bailey Wallace, EMT; and Kyler Riech, EMT. The 16 total MTECH students competed in competitions such as medical spelling, medical law and ethics, job seeking skills, medical assisting, EMT, medical terminology, Pathophysiology, Epidemiology, Issues in Healthcare, Public Service Announcement and Medical Math. HOSA is a competition that aims to assist members in developing effective leadership qualities and skills, build self-confidence and understand current healthcare issues. The national competition will be held at the Disney Coronado Resort in Orlando Florida at the end of June. We are so proud of all those who participated and those that qualified for Nationals.
