Technical College Leverages Unique K-16 Alliance to Add Programs, Staff

Heber City, UT - On the heels of a successful community event recently hosted at Wasatch High School by the Wasatch School District, Utah Valley University (UVU), and Mountainland Technical College (MTECH), MTECH is excited to announce an expansion in Wasatch County.

“On behalf of the college and the entire UVU/MTECH K-16 Alliance, we are thrilled to expand our services in Wasatch County,” said MTECH Vice President Joseph Demma. “Thanks to our wonderful partnerships with Wasatch School District and UVU, MTECH continues to grow in service to students and the economy.”

A key ingredient that allows for MTECH’s expansion in Wasatch County is a generous donation from UVU to MTECH to deliver instruction at their Wasatch Campus. To match that commitment, MTECH has also dedicated staff to focus specifically on outreach and community engagement throughout the region.

“Ideally, MTECH will be in a position to acquire its own land in each of the school districts of Summit and Wasatch Counties,” continued VP Demma. “Until then, this programmatic and administrative expansion demonstrates our commitment to the students and economic development of the area.”
