The Nurse Assistant Accelerated program is designed to fast-track the certified training process, allowing students to become a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in a shorter time frame.

In this program students receive both classroom and lab instruction with 24 hours of hands-on clinical experience. The accelerated program is ideal for individuals looking to enter the healthcare field quickly, offering an efficient pathway to employment in hospitals, nursing homes, and other healthcare settings.

Despite the shorter duration, this program maintains the rigorous standards necessary for certification and competent patient care. Students will become certified in First Aid and CPR. Upon completion of the program, students will be eligible to sit for the state knowledge and skills certification exams.

Minimum Age Requirement
: 17 years old. High school students must be in their senior year.

Registration opens at 8:00 AM on the Student Portal, and remains open until classes are full.

  • Complete and satisfy score requirements on the Entrance Assessment administered by the MTECH Testing Center.
  • After course registration is complete please gather the following information and be prepared to submit to instructor after the course start date:
    • One-step Tuberculosis test:
      Test must have been completed with the past 12 months with expiration date ending after course completion
      Accepted tests: TB skin test, titer, or negative chest x-ray.
    • Required Immunizations:
      Hepatitis B (3 step series)

If I want to be a nurse, should I take CNA or Medical Assistant?
If you want take the nursing pathway, start with your CNA certification. If you want to become a PA or Physician, start with Medical Assistant.

Submit MTECH Application

Applying is free and easy! When you apply, please choose “undecided” as your program choice. You will select Nurse Assistant - Accelerated after being accepted to MTECH.

Take the Entrance Assessment

Admission requirements may be met by taking the Entrance Assessment OR by providing qualifying documentation. The Entrance Assessment can be taken at a Testing Center, and qualifying documents can be sent to transcripts@mtec.edu.

Register for Nurse Assistant - Accelerated

Once previous steps have been completed, eligibility is met to register for the first course within the program. Registration is on a first come, first serve basis. Tuition and fees are due for the first course upon registration.

Prospective students can register through the Student Portal, or in person at Student Services.
