Welding Technology Level 2: Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW)
The Welding Technology Level 2: Gas Tungsten Arc Welding 2 (GTAW 2) program will prepare students to work in a wide variety of industries, from fabricating custom car frames, engines and exhausts to fabrication of trailers, aerospace components, industrial valves, welding pressure vessels, as well as industrial repair and maintenance work.
In this process, students will learn to weld advanced joint configurations, including pipe to plate, pipe to pipe and thin walled tube to 10 gauge sheet metal. Students will weld on mild steel and aluminum as well as stainless steel filler on mild steel.
Students will also learn advanced Testing and Inspection techniques and Thermal Cutting processes. Students learn industrial requirements and occupational skills needed in the welding field. The welding program emphasizes hands-on individualized instruction.
