INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY TECHNICIAN
PROJECT MANAGEMENT

Technicians analyze, troubleshoot, and evaluate computer network problems. They play an important role in the daily upkeep of their organization’s networks by finding solutions to problems as they occur. Solving an IT problem in a timely manner is important because organizations depend on their computer systems. Technical support specialists may provide assistance to the organization’s computer users through phone, email, or in-person visits. They often work under network and computer systems administrators, who handle more complex tasks.

This program prepares students to become certified in hardware and software of today’s industry computers and computer systems. Students will also become certified in network installation and management. The program has been designed with student learning as its focus. The Information Technology program + Project Management helps meet the diverse needs of students with different interests and objectives. Courses encourage practical application of knowledge through hands-on activities to prepare students for career opportunities, continuing education, and globally-recognized certifications.

With support from instructors, students who are disciplined and motivated cannot only earn industry-recognized certifications, but will also acquire the hands-on skills to be confident in competing in today’s workforce.

In addition, the Project Management program provides students with a set of skills in one of the world’s most in-demand areas. This program validates students’ ability to initiate, manage, and support projects in business initiatives relating to information technology. Project Management presents principles of project control through project initiation to a conclusion.
