Mornings, Afternoons and Evenings
In the digital media profession, designers combine art and technology to communicate ideas through images and the layout of web screens and printed pages. They may use a variety of design elements to achieve artistic or decorative effects. They develop the overall layout and production design for advertisements, brochures, magazines, and corporate reports.
The Digital Media Technology Program provides a strong foundation in the diverse fields of graphic design, digital /audio/video. It offers both theory and hands-on application in the production of electronically-generated media that can be used in print, television, film, websites, and mobile computing.
Students will design creative collateral for companies and/or clients. Course topics include Design Principles, Photography, Video Production, Image Manipulation, Vector Illustration, Desktop Publishing, Motion Graphics, Web Design, Small Business Marketing and a Final Portfolio.
Students will gain the skills necessary for entry-level employment in Digital Media careers and introduce them to industry practices for the following fields:
- Graphic Design
- Motion Graphics & Animation
- Front-end Web Design
Students will work wtih the Adobe Creative Suite of software, and students will learn literacy in and production skills in the following software and programming languages:
- After Effects
- Premiere Pro
- HTML and CSS
