Information Technology (IT) Support Technicians analyze, troubleshoot, and evaluate computer network problems. They play an important role in the daily upkeep of their organization’s networks by finding solutions to problems as they occur. Solving an IT problem in a timely manner is important because organizations rely on their computer systems, devices and technology. Technical support specialists may provide assistance to the organization’s computer users through phone, email, or in-person visits. They often work under network and computer systems administrators, who handle more complex tasks.
This newly-restructured Program brings greater focus on the soft skills and abilities that are necessary for entry-level technicians to thrive in the workplace, including: Customer Service, Professionalism and Leadership. The learning environment has been structured to closely resemble on-the-job training in technical support ops. As students progress through the tech support Tiers I, II, and III, they will receive hands-on training in interpersonal communication, working in Agile teams, resolving support tickets, contributing to the knowledge base, scrum mastering and peer mentoring.
With support from instructors, students who are disciplined and motivated will not only earn industry-recognized certifications, but will also acquire the hands-on skills to be confident in competing in today’s high-tech workforce.
